Day Camp Counselor

Wells Parks & Recreation is on the hunt for dynamic, enthusiastic, charismatic and adventure-loving individuals to join our fabulous team as Day Camp Counselors! What You'll Do:

Schedule:
Applicants are expected to be available for camp training which is scheduled for the week of June 16th and all 7 weeks of camp. Camp starts the week of June 23rd and ends August 8th. Schedule is 32-40 hours per week, ranging between 7:30am-5:30pm, Mon-Fri.  An opportunity to work an extra week (Aug 11-15) with our smaller extra week of camp may be available if hired for the first 7 weeks.
 
Wages:
Wages starting at $15.30 per hour and up depending on experience.

Camp Coordinator/Assistant Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily camp operations, ensuring a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for campers and staff.
  • Develop and implement engaging programs and activities that promote physical, social, and emotional growth.
  • Lead, mentor, and support camp staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and camp stakeholders to ensure a smooth camp experience.
  • Handle any emergencies or conflicts that arise, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a camp leadership role or similar environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for working with children and creating positive experiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).

Junior Leadership Counselor

Are you an enthusiastic outdoor lover with a passion for adventure and working with kids? We are looking for energetic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Junior Leadership Camp Counselors for our upcoming summer season! At Wells Parks & Recreation, we pride ourselves on creating unforgettable outdoor experiences for children in grades 6-9. Our camp offers a variety of exciting activities including ropes courses, kayaking, hiking, swimming, and much more.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise a group of campers, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment, encouraging campers to step out of their comfort zones.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to campers, helping them develop new skills and build confidence.
  • Assist with daily camp operations
  • Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and other staff members.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with children in a camp or similar setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and handle challenging situations with a positive attitude.
  • Passion for outdoor activities and adventure.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to drive 15 passenger van.
