Day Camp Counselor

We are looking for Summer Camp Counselors to supervise young campers to make sure they learn and have fun. The most important of all Camp Counselor duties is to ensure campers are always safe. You’ll be responsible for overseeing camper games and activities. The job duties of a Camp Counselor also include organizing summer camp games, educating campers, ensuring campers are following rules and setting up equipment. Camp Counselors must be willing and able to be flexible in various situations. Being reliable and able to build good relationships with children and co-workers are two essential traits of a Camp Counselor. We are looking for individuals who understand how to follow guidelines and keep a positive attitude. If you love to work with children, are patient, enjoy working outdoors, energetic, and stern when needed, we’d like to meet you! 
 
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants are expected to be available for camp training which is scheduled for the week of June 17th and all 7 weeks of camp. Camp starts the week of June 24th and ends August 9th. Schedule is 32-40 hours per week, ranging between 7:30am-5:30pm, Mon-Fri.  CPR, First Aid and AED certifications are a plus.
 
Wages:
Wages range from $14.25 - $18.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Camp Coordinator

We are looking for an energetic applicant to lead camp under the direction of the Camp Supervisor.  This individual must possess strong leadership skills in leading school-aged children. This individual is responsible for overseeing and planning all aspects of the summer camp program for their camp group. Must be able to supervise and manage staff in the program and ensure daily activities are safe. This position is required to meet with parents as needed and must be able to adapt in many situations involving children and weather changes.
 
Applicants must be able to respect co-workers, follow direction and lead others. Applicant must be able to work in an outdoor setting. Applicants must possess strong communication skills, have experience working with children, and have a clean background check.
 
Camp Structure:
Wells Recreation Summer Day Camp is divided into 3 camps by grade level (Camp 1-2, Camp 3-4 and Camp 5-6). Each grade level camp plans their own day to day activities. Camp activities include arts & crafts, games, music, nature, sports, and much more! Field Trips & Special Performers are scheduled and organized by the Camp Supervisor for all camps.
 
Schedule:
