Youth Basketball
These introductory and intermediate leagues are for boys & girls. There will be separate teams for each gender as long as numbers allow. Participants learn, practice, and demonstrate the skills and concepts of basketball while gaining confidence. An emphasis is placed on skill development and teamwork at both levels.  All registered players will be placed on a team

Junior Co-ed Teams (Grades 1-2): This division will play 4 v 4 games on the side courts at an 8.5’ hoop using a junior size ball; score is not kept. Coaches and referees will be on the court to help the players during the games and all children will receive equal playing time.

Senior Basketball (Grades 3-5): This division will play 5 v 5 games on the full court using women’s size basketballs and shooting at regulation 10’ hoops; score will be kept but may be reset if lopsided games occur. Coaches are not allowed on the court to help the players during the games and all children will receive close to equal playing time. 

Team Drills & Skills Days:
Junior 1st grade - Saturday, Nov. 16 @ 8:00-8:55am
Junior 2nd grade - Saturday, Nov. 16 @ 9:00-9:55am
Senior Boys - Saturday, Nov 16 @ 10:30-11:30am
Senior Girls - Saturday, Nov 16 @ 11:30-12:30pm
  At Wells Elementary Gym


Team will be announced by email and available on the Rec website on Thursday, Nov. 21.   Teams will meet on Saturday, Nov 23 @ their designated time. 



Practices begin the week of November 25.  (No school No practice) 
Jr Teams will practice on either Tuesdays or Thursdays @ 4:00-5:00pm
Sr Teams will practice on either Mon, Tues, Wed, OR Thurs @ 5:00-6:00pm

***NOTE: If you need a certain day for practice please email Marilyn by Nov 18th and we will try to accommodate you. 


GAMES: Will be on Saturdays starting Dec. 7. Schedule will be posted.
