2025 New Court Policies
During the fall of 2024, we started the renovation project of rebuilding the tennis/pickleball courts at our Walter Marsh Recreation Park. There is still work to be completed but we are hoping to open the courts by early Summer 2025. There will be opportunities to purchase memberships and reserve your court online! We are currently still working on the logistics of the reservation system and policies may be revised.
ENTRANCE TO COURTS:
Although the tennis and pickleball courts are open to the public, we utilize a court reservation system to limit access. The money collected from memberships & court fees are used for upkeep and repair of the courts.
Reserve your court in advance! No more waiting for a court or driving to the courts wondering if you'll get one. CourtReserve is our online player, event and court management tool for you to view, register and pay for court time. Looking for someone to play with? Use the "Find a Player" tool to find players of similar abilities!
CourtReserve can be accessed online, or you can download the CourtReserve App from the App Store. Apple | Android.
To make a reservation for Open Play or a Court Rental, simply toggle through the days of the week and click on “reserve” at the desired time.
Members will be assigned a unique pin code tied to their account, granting entry based on reservation and event times. When you arrive at the courts simply use your PIN to access the gate.
Have a CourtReserve Account at another club?
If you already have a CourtReserve Account at another club and you’re having trouble trying to sign up for WPR’s CourtReserve, take these steps: 1) login to your existing CourtReserve account, 2) go under your name, choose “My Organizations”, 3) choose “Add Organization”, and then choose Wells Parks & Recreation.

- To enroll in any Open Play session, you must create an account in the CourtReserve app. “Open Play” provides a scheduled opportunity for individuals to register and play with a variety of partners.
- Members will save money on Reservations.
- Members will be allowed to make reservations in advance of guest members.
- Memberships are annual and must be renewed each year.
*Membership fees for 2025 will be prorated depending upon court opening date.

CANCELLATION POLICIES:
Open Play Sessions and Court Rentals can be cancelled on your CourtReserve App at any time up to 2 hours prior to the start of your session. Cancellations made at least 12 hours before the start of your session will receive automatic full credit to your CourtReserve Online Account. Cancellations made after the 12-hour deadline will not receive automatic credit. If you need to cancel within the 12-hour window, please EMAIL us at _______@wellstown.org. Cancellation credit requests will be reviewed Mon-Fri.
Please read our “No Shows” section below regarding players not dropping themselves or just not showing up for a session.
Cancellations and No Shows
Excessive Cancellations or “No Shows” may result in penalty fees and/or loss of membership. Please be considerate of other players and take the time to withdraw yourself from the session if you are not able to attend.
Reservations must be cancelled at least 12 hours prior to reservation to avoid penalty. Members and guests will not be able to reserve time after 3 penalty cancellations.
No cancellations may be made within 2 hours of your reservation.
Inclement Weather
Maine's weather is unpredictable. If the courts need to be closed due to rain, reservations will be credited. Courts will not be closed due to heat, wind or other undesirable weather.
RULES OF THE COURTS:
- Only non-marking sneakers may be worn. Please no black soled sneakers or cleats.
- Do not litter. Please pick up after yourself.
- Only tennis & pickleball players on the courts. No pets, strollers, skateboards, roller blades, or bicycles on courts.
- Courts must be reserved through Court Reserve. No unreserved play allowed.
- YOU MUST LOCK THE COURTS UPON LEAVING. DO NOT PROP OPEN GATES.
- ALCOHOL AND TOBACCO PRODUCTS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE PARK.
- Tennis & Pickleball Courts are prohibited from being used for profit by any individual or organization without a written agreement from the Recreation Director.
COURT ACCESSABILITY:
The courts are available from April to November (weather dependent) - NOTE: 2025 availability will depend on construction completion. Courts must be reserved through the CourtReserve App. Courts will be “Auto-Assigned”. Members will not be allowed to select specific courts. Do not prop gates open.
Pickleball: There are 6 Pickleball Courts.
Tennis: There are 2 Tennis Courts.
Wells Recreation Dept. will hold youth and adult lessons on the courts during the Spring and Summer. Times will be posted on the CourtReserve App.
