Part-time Seasonal Maintenance

Enjoy working hands-on and outdoors? Come and join our small team and spend your spring and summer helping maintain one of Southern Maine’s premier public recreation facilities!  The Town of Wells Parks & Recreation Department seeks candidates to help maintain its 70-acre facility on Route 9A, which includes ball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, a picnic area, playgrounds, a series of walking trails in the woods, a public restroom and offices.
 
Qualified individuals will have demonstrated experience using typical landscaping tools, such as a weed whacker, lawn mower, and gardening tools. Candidates should also be familiar with use of light carpentry equipment such as hand drills, grinder, and other minor tools, and possess a working knowledge of trail work.
 
You must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and work safely in most spring and summer weather conditions. This position reports to the Parks & Recreation Maintenance Supervisor and works both independently and as part of a team, entails 30-35 hours per week, usually 7:30am-2:30pm, M-F.  Starting as early as mid-April and ending the end of August; start date negotiable for the right person.  You must be at least 18 years of age to apply. Wage is $18-$20/hour depending on experience.
