Odyssey of the Mind (OotM) is an international program that inspires students to solve creative problems through hands-on learning. It builds confidence, life skills, and friendships while encouraging students to explore their full potential in a fun, engaging environment.
OotM integrates STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) by requiring students to combine technical and artistic skills — like building sets, making costumes, and performing. This well-rounded approach fosters teamwork, creativity, and public speaking, helping students grow both academically and personally.
There is a State tournament on April 4th at Edward Little High School in Auburn, ME. Teams coming in first or second at States qualify to attend World Finals (this year at Iowa State University, May 27th-30th).
Days and Times Based on Team/Coach.
Teams can only be formed if there are volunteer coaches. Training is available.
The cost to be on an Odyssey of the Mind team will be $25.00. In addition, all teams are expected to participate in fundraising activities. Parent participation can include helping or chairing activities, providing food or materials for meetings, or other fundraising contributions.
