Wells Rec. Travel basketball is a competitive program that plays games against other town's competitive teams in the Maine Basketball League.
Players must tryout to be on the team. Teams have 10-12 players per team, cuts will be made if more than 10-12 players try out. If possible teams will be made up of all one grade and gender level. Players must have basketball experience.
*3/4 grade teams play in a mostly 4th grade league; 3rd graders are welcome to tryout but may not make the team.
- Season goes from Nov. 1, 2025 to tournaments in March 2026.
- Teams will practice twice a week:
5/6 teams will practice at the Jr High gym @ 6:45-8:00pm **
3/4 teams will practice at the Elem gym @ 6:00-7:30pm **
** Some teams may have alternative locations/days/times for practices than is listed in this general information.
- Teams will compete in the Maine Basketball League (MBL) games will be held in Saco, Biddeford, Noble, Portland, and surrounding area. Transportation is the responsibility of the player's family.
- Games are mostly on Saturdays or Sundays with some weeknight games. Tournaments over the holidays and vacation weeks may be added; this will be an additional cost, TBA.
Players will need a red/white reversible practice pinnie; if you do not already have one please use this link to purchase one.
