A fun dance style which combines street- funk, jazz and street dancing. This is often seen on TV shows and music videos. This is a fun and active dance style for all learners! In a fun upbeat environment!We are excited to bring Hip Hop back to the Wells Recreation program! This class will meet weekly for 45 minutes a week. All students will be able to participate in our end of year recital on June 7th.The cost is $50 per month for a total of $250. Payment plans are available. Please contact ngould@wellstown.org to arrange a payment plan. There is an additional $50 cost for a recital costume.Meet the Instructor: Katie CatalanoKatie has been dancing with Northern Explosion Dance Studio since 2008 but has been dancing since the age of 3. As a dancer, she was a part of our National Champion clogging team (the first from the Northeast since Maine Attraction Cloggers in the early 2000s). She has been an assistant teacher since she was 14 years old. She first started as a lead teacher three years ago. She is currently our competition hip hop teacher and our adult burlesque teacher. She also assists in all our competition clogging classes. This year, Katie was invited to perform with the American Clogging All Stars at the Alamo Bowl halftime show! She is extremely excited to share her passion for dance with the kids in Wells. She brings energy, positivity, and technique to each class. She is motivated for kids to grow in dance but also grow in their passion for dance!

Zumba® dance moves are easy to follow (absolutely no dance experience necessary!), and set to fun, high energy Latin and international music--we even throw in an occasional Top-40 song. The hour flies by! It is truly exercise that doesn't feel like exercise. We have people of all ages in our class and we'd love to have you join us. Dress in comfortable clothing and wear sneakers with good support but not a lot of tread. And don't forget your water bottle!Zumba is offered by Wells Parks & Recreation during the Summer months. Stretch and Tone: This is a low-impact, full body workout that will tone your muscles, increase range of motion, mobility and flexibility, and help reduce stress. We move through a series of stretching and toning exercises that will also help strengthen your bones. No experience necessary. Bring a mat for floor-work and light hand-held weights or 2 filled water bottles to use as weights. About the instructor: Judy Stark has 20+ years experience as a Group Fitness Instructor. She has trained as a 200 hour Yoga Instructor as well as a Strength and Stretch Coach. She teaches classes that are accessible to all, no experience necessary. She works with people who may have injuries and limitations, as well as seasoned exercise enthusiasts. Classes are safe and effective, numerous people feel relief from pain afterwards.
